Trends in Dhaka arrive through a mix of global fashion media, campus culture and what actually survives the weather. This year the movement is towards quiet pieces with loud details.

Oversized is here to stay

The oversized silhouette has moved from niche streetwear to mainstream campus fashion. Heavyweight tees, wide but clean trousers and boxy overshirts are everywhere in Dhanmondi and Bashundhara. The refinement this year is balance: one oversized piece per outfit.

The return of the everyday watch

After a decade of phones, wristwatches are back as a finishing piece. Men under thirty are buying field watches, minimal quartz pieces and affordable automatics. The trend is less about status and more about craft and daily reliability.

Local brands, louder

Bangladeshi streetwear and accessory brands are winning on cut, fabric and price. Young buyers now compare local heavyweight tees against imports and often prefer the local product. Supporting homegrown labels has become a quiet point of pride.

What is fading

  • Heavy prints and all-over graphics, cleaner pieces are winning
  • Tight, skinny silhouettes, especially for casual wear
  • Imitations of global luxury logos
  • Thin, shapeless fabric with no structure

The throughline is confidence. Dhaka fashion is getting pickier about cut, fabric and fit, and that is a trend worth following.
